Overall banner durability is determined by a combination of the two components l- Quality & Weight.
But which one is right for you? The answer to that question is dependent upon the intended uses and application of the banner. Different types of vinyl are more strongly suited to specific applications than others. Below we will discuss the different vinyl options that Printastic offers, along with the pros and cons of each.
Vinyl banners are made of two products—polyester mesh (scrim) and vinyl. The vinyl component holds the printed image and the polyester mesh provides added strength. The linear mass density of the mesh fibers is measured in units called deniers. A high denier count for the scrim generally means a smoother scrim vinyl. Typically banner vinyl is between 150 and 1,000 denier, with the higher the denier number equating to a higher quality of vinyl.
For vinyl banners, the material is typically measured in ounces - based on a square yard of material. For example, our value grade vinyl is 10 ounces, meaning a square yard weighs 10 ounces. The larger the number, the heavier the vinyl is per print.
